A Notary Public is a person commissioned by a state government to serve as an official impartial witness and to help prevent fraud. A Notary can administer oaths, witness the signing of documents, and deter fraud by verifying the identity of a person who signs a document. When a document is notarized, you have posiitive assurance that the document is genuine, that the signer has been positively identified, understands the content of the document, signed the document of their own free will, and agrees to the content of the document. The signer of the document may also be required to swear or attest to the truthfulness of the document and its content. It is important to note: A Notary Public is not an attorney and does not practice law. A Notary may not give legal advice or accept fees for legal advice. If you have legal questions, contact a licensed attorney.
A Notary is an impartial party and may not notarize documents for members of their immediate family (spouse, parents,or children). They may notarize documents for other family members but it is a sound practice to obtain outside notarization to avoid any potential confilct-of-interest.
A Notary Signing Agent (NSA) is a specially trained Notary Public. The NSA conducts the signing of real-estate contracts and documents at closing. Today, many closings take place directly in the buyer's home. This speeds up the process dramatically and allows the buyer some flexibility because they do not have to travel to the lender's offices or take time off from work. The closing can be done on their schedule.
As a mobile Notay and certified Signing Agent I travel to you in your home, at your business, wherever is most convenient for you, on your schedule. Many services can even be same-day when scheduling permits.
